The North Penn Marching Knights are national champions, as they were victorious at the 2021 USBands Group IV Open competition on Saturday at MetLife Stadium, according to its Facebook page.
The Knights won with a score of 95.20, which was good for first place in the Group IV Open and enough to win the caption award for Best Overall Effect.
On Monday night at 7:30 p.m. at North Penn High School’s Crawford Stadium, the national champs will perform their 2021 show, “Skybound,” during the free Community Knight event, sponsored by the North Penn Marching Knights and North Penn Music Aides Inc.
On Oct. 30, the Knights clinched the MidAtlantic Regional Championship in Camp Hill with a score of 93.4, as well as winning the captions for Best Overall Effect, Best Music and Best Percussion. A week prior in West Chester, they clinched the 2021 Pennsylvania State Championships in Group IV Open, with a score of 90.6 and winning the caption awards for Best Visual and Best Percussion.
In both of those competitions, the Marching Knights – whose motto is “The heart of a champion beats forever” – had the top score for any group in any division.
