Police Investigating Fraudulent 911 Call Regarding Armed Subject on Lansdale Avenue

Lansdale Borough Police are investigating a fraudulent 911 call regarding an armed subject on Lansdale Avenue Monday night.

Police said they were dispatched to the 600 block of Lansdale Avenue at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 for a report of an armed subject. The 911 caller told county dispatch that a male resident of the home intended to kill his family, however the on-scene investigation revealed that the call was made under false pretenses.

Though the on-scene investigation was resolved peacefully, the incident remains under investigation by the Lansdale Borough Police Department’s investigation unit. Anyone with information regarding the subject(s) responsible for the fraudulent 911 call are asked to contact police at 215-368-1801. In a statement, police reiterated that reporting false crimes to emergency services is a criminal offense and punishable with arrest.
