Mayoral Musings: Local Elections Matter, Remember to Vote Tomorrow

Tomorrow is Election Day!

Polls are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for all residents to cast their ballots in person. Additionally, the drop box locations will be accepting ballots until 8 p.m. 2021 elections consist, mostly, of municipal races (borough/township government), judge races (magisterial, superior, and supreme), and school board. It is not an exaggeration to say that the people elected to these seats will have a much larger impact in the average resident’s life than any national or state elected candidate, due to the immediate impact their decisions can have on the community. Suffice it to say that local elections matter, and it is critical that residents take the time to do their civic duty to help improve and build our community.

Some key information:

For mail-in ballots, please make sure you have completed the process by putting the ballot in the secrecy envelope and signing in all the appropriate locations. Filled-out ballots go first inside a blank, anonymous secrecy envelope, and then into the return envelope that is addressed to the county elections office and has the voter’s signature and information. If voters place the ballot directly into the return envelope, it’s “naked.” Naked ballots will not be counted!! So, please double check your ballots are submitted properly before dropping them into the drop-box.
