Skippack Pharmacy to Hold Vaccine Clinic This Sunday at North Penn High School

Those ages 12 and over have another “shot” at the COVID-19 vaccine.

A walk-in clinic, which is also offering preregistration to save time, will be held this weekend, courtesy once again of the hard work of Dr. Mayank “Mak” Amin and The Skippack Pharmacy.

The pharmacy is holding a final, mass vaccination clinic on Sunday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at North Penn High School to anyone over the age of 12. Patients under the age of 18 require an adult to be present with him or her.

Currently, there are around 5,500 persons registered, but the pharmacy has capacity for over 7,500. Walk-ups are welcome, but registration ahead of time will save time for the patient receiving the vaccine, as well as a scheduled appointment time.

The name “Amin” may sound familiar to Montgomery County residents by now. The same pharmacist has held massive vaccination days in the area previously, offering 3,000 shots in 12 hours during a late-March clinic and tens of thousands more in the weeks that followed.

“Having this site, we’ll definitely get more vaccines,” Amin told North Penn Now of using the high school facility back in March.

He was right. The new clinic will boast more than double the amount from that clinic.

Amin is no stranger to the halls of NPHS. In fact, he’s an alumni. He is frequently enthusiastic about serving the community he has been a part of for some time. He often dons a Superman costume, now well known in town, when serving at the clinics.

During the March clinic, he was “quick to heap praise towards his staff and students, the volunteers who spent their time on site, members of the Towamencin Township Police Department and Volunteer Medical Service Corps for securing the site and district staff for maintaining the building throughout the event,” said a previous article on the event, covered by North Penn Now.

Amin, the owner and operator of Skippack Pharmacy, often repeats that he is grateful for the countless helpers that come to the clinics to work alongside him to get the community vaccinated. According to Fox29 coverage of an April clinic, it took over 700 such “helpers” to make one of the previous clinics happen.

“It takes a village to make something like this work,” said Amin told North Penn Now back in March. “Our volunteers came from all over the county, and they worked tirelessly to help. Many of them asked for additional responsibilities once their shifts were finished, and we couldn’t be more grateful.”

Amin has been doing more than his fair share of ending the pandemic, one vaccine at a time.

“The work is not done yet, and it may not be done for a while,” Amin said in a February interview with the “Knight Crier” regarding the pandemic. “But, each day, we get closer and closer to the day where it all ends.”

Spaces are still available for Sunday’s open clinic. For more information, visit the website below. Registration is also available online by clicking here.
