The Montgomery County SWAT Central Region wrapped up a week-long training session on Friday by conducting high risk search warrant training at a vacant home on West Third Street in Lansdale.
Instructors from the SWAT team said trainees came from multiple area police departments, as well as the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Corrections. The week-long program is aimed as providing advanced tactical training to the trainees, who then return to their departments with the knowledge and skills to handle a high-risk situation, should one arise.
While North Penn Now was on scene, trainees executed three separate high-risk warrant services on the property, each time beginning with dismounting the armored vehicle and ending with a subject in custody. After each session, the group held an after-action review and then geared up for another run.
Instructors told North Penn Now that while most of the trainees won’t serve on the Central Region team, the training they received this week could prove to be extremely useful should they find themselves in a similar situation without the benefit of the SWAT team.
North Penn Now wants to thank our local police departments for inviting us to the scene, and allowing us to document their training. Check out our photo gallery below.
