State Rep. Steve Malagari, D-Montgomery, announced on Wednesday that a local café/market and Souderton Area School District received a collective total of $13,000 in grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
Small Batch Kitchen in Lansdale received a $10,000 grant through the Pennsylvania Farm Bill's Urban Agriculture Grant Program. Funds will be used toward costs related to preservation equipment for urban farm products.
“Access to locally grown, nutritious and sustainable food is a critical part of building a healthy community and ensuring that no Pennsylvanian goes hungry,” Malagari said.
