Fire Companies on Scene of Apartment Building Fire in Lansdale Borough

UPDATE: May 10, 8:49 p.m. - Multiple sources have confirmed to North Penn Now that the fire has been placed under control. Photographer Bob Kelly said crews have begun packing their gear, and residents are waiting outside to reenter the building.

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire and the extent of any damage is unclear at this time.

Multiple area fire companies are on the scene of an apartment building fire on East Mount Vernon Street in Lansdale Borough.

Crews were dispatched to the 200 block of East Mount Vernon Street at 8:26 p.m. for a report of a fire at the Heritage House Apartments. Dispatch notes indicate that a 9-1-1 caller stated that there were visible flames and smoke showing from the building.

Arriving police and fire units have confirmed the fire and are currently working to evacuate the residents of the building. There is currently no word on any injuries or the cause of the fire.

Members of the Fairmount Fire Company are being assisted at the scene by units from the Lansdale Borough Police Department, North Penn Fire Company, Fire Department of Montgomery Township and Volunteer Medical Service Corps.
