Construction Worker Injured After Falling into Basement, Airlifted from Worcester Site

A construction worker was airlifted to an area hospital on Monday afternoon after falling into the basement of a home being constructed at the Reserve at Centre Square in Worcester Township.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, crews were dispatched to the intersection of Skippack Pike and Bethel Road at 3:32 p.m. on March 29 for a request of a technical rescue. Dispatch notes indicate that a 23-year-old male worker had fallen approximately 16 feet through the floor and into the basement of a home that was under construction.

The male was reportedly unconscious after the fall.

Units from the Worcester Fire Department and Upper Gwynedd Fire Department were able to successfully rescue the victim at approximately 4:01 p.m., and he was later airlifted via PennSTAR to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

Members of the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Troop K and Plymouth Community Ambulance Association provided assistance at the scene. No additional information was provided, and the current status of the victim is unknown.
