Harleysville Man Pleads Guilty to Sexually Assaulting, Harassing Teen Girls at Sleepover

A Harleysville man will serve the next four-to-10-years in state prison after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting and harassing two teen females during a sleepover in 2019.

Brian Sipko, 54, pleaded guilty on Thursday to one felony count of aggravated incident assault of a person less than 16 years old at the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas. Additional charges of aggravated indecent assault without consent, aggravated indecent assault – forcible compulsion, indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors and harassment were dismissed in exchange for his plea, according to court records.

Sipko will receive credit for 648 days of time served at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, court records show. In addition to the prison sentence, Sipko will have to register as a sexually violent predator under Megan’s Law and he in prohibited from having contact with the victims upon his release.

The guilty plea and sentence stems from Sipko’s arrest in September 2019.

According to the criminal complaint, Lower Salford Township Police Department received a call on July 28, 2019, regarding the sexual assault of a 13-year-old female. The victim — referred to in the complaint as Victim 1 — told police that while she was sleeping over at her friends’ grandmother’s house on July 24, 2019, she was sexually assaulted by the grandmother’s boyfriend — later identified as Sipko.

Victim 1 told police that once her friend — identified in the complaint as Victim 2 — fell asleep, Sipko sexually assaulted Victim 1, placing his hands both inside her underwear and underneath her bra, according to the report. Victim 1 added that prior to Victim 2 falling asleep, Sipko offered Victim 1 $50 for oral sex, the report states. Victim 1 also told police that on a previous occasion, Sipko allegedly told her she could have sex with him, according to the report.

During a separate interview, Victim 2 stated that on the same evening of the sleepover, Sipko offered her money in exchange for oral sex, according to the report. Victim 2 informed police that Sipko allegedly “fanned out” several $100 bills in an effort to solicit oral sex from the teen, the report states.

On Aug. 30, 2019, police conducted an interview with Sipko, who admitted to offering both teens money in exchange for oral sex, the report states. Sipko also confessed to having numerous text messages with Victim 1, which he both initiated and were sexual in nature, according to the report.

As a result of the investigation, Sipko was arrested on Sept. 16, 2019, and charged with felony counts of aggravated indecent assault without consent, aggravated indecent assault-forcible compulsion, aggravated indecent assault-victim less than 16, endangering the welfare of children, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors, as well as misdemeanor counts of indecent assault without consent, indecent assault-forcible compulsion, indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age and harassment.
