The Upper Gwynedd Police Department held an event on Sunday funded by a grant from the PA Liquor Control Board.
Long time township DARE Officer, Fred Lynch, said the event was held to unveil their new RUDD Trailer — Reduce Underage and Dangerous Drinking. The trailer will be taken to schools and community functions to allow students and young adults to witness and experience the dangers of underage drinking through a variety of activities.
Participants at Sunday’s event wore impairment goggles while attempting to navigate a pedal cart through a serpentine course. Other activities included tests of a person’s hand-eye coordination while wearing the goggles to perform a normally simple tasks, such as stacking cups or completing a puzzle.
