Intoxicated Hatfield Man Injures Woman by Throwing Glass Container at Her

Dilip G. Sitapara, 65, of Hatfield, was arrested June 2 on charges of misdemeanor simple assault and harassment by kicking, shoving, or striking, in connection with a drunken assault on a woman that occurred in Hatfield Township.

Police said Sitapara threw a glass Tupperware container at the head of the victim during an argument, resulting in swelling and a cut on the middle finger of her left hand. The woman put her hands up to protect her face, police said. Sitapara was intoxicated at the time of the incident, according to the complaint.

Sitapara is free on $10,000 unsecured bond and a preliminary hearing is set for June 15 before District Judge Andrea Duffy.

Elderly Man Arrested for Sending Death Threats to Victim in Montgomery Township

David Ray Prosser, 78, of Royersford, faces charges of terroristic threats, in connection with alleged death threats he sent to a man in Montgomery Township.

The victim went to Montgomery Township Police during the early morning of May 29 and told police he had been receiving death threats from Prosser for the past year via text message and voicemail, police said. Prosser told the victim he was going to blow his head off and kill him numerous times, and once told him he put a contract out on him, police said.

Prosser is free on $10,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is set for July 20 before District Judge Andrea Duffy.

Prosser’s arrest comes just months after finishing two years’ probation on Feb. 27, 2021, which was the result of a negotiated guilty plea for simple assault and possessing an instrument of crime from a November 2017 arrest in Montgomery Township.

Ambler Man First Day into Probation, Uses Water Gun to Spray Round Up on Neighbor’s Lawn

John Joseph Siedlecki, 71, of Ambler, was charged June 4 with stalking, defiant trespassing, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident on Betsy Lane in Whitpain Township.

Siedlecki committed the acts one day after pleading guilty to and receiving one years’ probation for harassment from a September 2020 arrest in Whitpain Township, per court records.  

A neighbor called police to report Siedlecki was using a bright orange plastic water gun to spray Round Up herbicide on his front yard, police said. The neighbor confronted and argued with Siedlecki, and both went back to their respective homes.

Then, Siedlecki came up to the neighbor’s front door and knocked several times, police said. The neighbor feared for his safety of his family, shut the front door, and called police.

Siedlecki remains in Montgomery County jail on $1,000 bail, according to court records. A preliminary hearing is set for June 17 before District Judge Suzan Leonard.

In October 2018, Siedlecki was arrested for harassment in Whitpain Township. He plead guilty in February 2019 and received 90 days’ probation, according to court records.

Woman Told Not to Climb Ladder with Broken Ankle, Attempts to Attack Man with Scythe

Jennifer Lynn Rice, 58, of Blue Bell, was arrested June 5 on charges of simple assault and harassment, in connection with an incident on the 1900 block of Pulaski Drive in Whitpain Township.

Rice became agitated when her mother told her to not climb a ladder with a broken ankle, police said. She then yelled at her mother, at which time, a male relative entered the garage, and she then began yelling at and attempting to punch him, police said.

Rice’s relative restrained her hand, but she tried to reach for several tools, including a sledgehammer and scythe, police said. They both went to the ground and Rice reached for bricks, but the man was able to grab her hands and restrain her, police said.

The man suffered abrasions to his forehead, right hand, and left knee.

Rice is free on $2,500 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is June 17 before District Judge James Gallagher.
