Police Blotter: Deer Crashes Through Window of Home, Stolen Car and DUI

Woman Punches Juvenile Male in Hatfield

Bryana Franklin, 31, of Hatfield, was arrested on May 21 on charges of simple assault and harassment, in connection with an incident that occurred along Wimbledon Lane in Hatfield Township.

Franklin reportedly struck the victim in the left side of his face with an open hand, causing a bleeding cut to his lower lip. The alleged assault was prefaced by an argument between Franklin and the victim police said.

Franklin remains free on $5,000 unsecured bail.

Deer Crashes Through Picture Window of Home

On May 18 at 2:06 p.m., Ambler Borough Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Belmont Avenue for a report of a deer that became trapped inside of the home.

The report states that a whitetail doe had crashed through the home’s front picture window. Police were able to capture the deer and release it outside without injury.

The deer retreated to a nearby wooded area upon being freed, police said.

Woman Blows Red Light, Arrested for DUI, Police Say

Tatiana Martinez, 34, of Quakertown, was arrested in Hilltown Township on May 15 for suspicion of DUI.

Police said Martinez drove through a steady red light at the intersection of Bethlehem Pike and Route 113, at which point they initiated a traffic stop. Martinez confessed to consuming alcohol, and failed a series of field sobriety tests, police said.

Martinez consented to a blood draw for chemical testing, however the results are not yet available, police said. Upon a search prior to impounding the vehicle, police said they recovered a clear bag containing suspected marijuana from the center console.

Martinez was charged on May 24 with DUI, possession of marijuana, driving an unregistered vehicle and failure to stop at a red signal.

Police Recover Stolen Subaru in New Britain Township

Todd Cordano, 50, no fixed abode, was arrested on May 15 and charged with receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, DUI, careless driving, improper signaling and careless driving, in connection with a traffic stop in New Britain Township.

Police were on patrol at 10:13 p.m. when they observed a Subaru Legacy driving erratically and swerving on County Line Road between Walnut Street and Butler Avenue. Police said that upon initiating the traffic stop, Cordano lied to them about where he was going, then said he was homeless and was “just trying to have a few drinks and have a good time.” Dispatch then radioed that the vehicle was stolen, police said.

The report states that Cordano had red, glassy eyes with slurred speech, and he went on to fail a series of field sobriety tests. The vehicle was later confirmed to be stolen out to Danbury, Connecticut, police said.
