Save the Bees, Please!
Saturday, August 7 at 10 a.m.
Join us for a special kids’ program about the importance of bees. Hosted by Girl Scout Gold Award candidate MaryAnn Lehsinskie and Green Lane Park. With the help of some special guest presenters, we will learn how bees make honey, observe a hive with live bees, make a bee craft, visit MaryAnn’s newly installed Bee Garden, enjoy a snack made by bees, and more! This program is for kids ages 6 to 11, accompanied by an adult. Spaces are limited, and pre-registration is required. Call (215) 234-4528 to reserve your space.
Shakespeare's "As You Like It"
Saturday, August 7 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Location: Amphitheater, 2298 Green Lane Rd., Green Lane, PA 18054
Physical comedy, live music, and Shakespeare's classic verse combines for a compelling evening at Theatre on the Verge's flagship production of As You Like It. Rosalind, disguised as a boy, her best friend, Celia, and their jester companion, Touchstone, flee an abusive regent to the wild forest of Arden, in search of Rosalind's banished father. Along the way, they meet a manic-depressive courtier, disdainful shepherdess, and Rosalind's crush, Orlando, also seeking refuge from his brother. Rosalind, still disguised, makes the fateful decision to test Orlando's affections by teaching him how to woo Rosalind. Will true love, sacrifice, and friendship win the day? Maybe, but only with comedic high jinks along the way. Production rated PG for a few adult references. Free admission, donations gratefully accepted. Please bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on.
Little Red Rooster Blues Band
Sunday, August 8 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Location: Amphitheater, 2298 Green Lane Rd., Green Lane, PA 18054
Join us for an evening of music in the park for our 2021 Summer Concert Series. Since their formation in 1988, the Little Red Rooster Blues Band have become one of the Delaware Valley’s premier blues bands, consistently delivering their own brand of blues, always combined with a crowd pleasing, high-energy performance and a whole lot of fun! To date, they have released 7 CDs of original material, all of which were widely acclaimed by critics and fans alike! In February of 2015, the band was inducted into the International Blues Hall of Fame, and in 2016, they were voted Best Band in Bucks County, PA, by the organization Bucks Happening. In July of 2018, the band’s CD made Living Blues Radio Chart’s Top 25. Their passion and respect for the music, along with their ability to fully engage their audiences, virtually guarantees a phenomenal live blues experience, every time. Please bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on. All ages; free.
