Firefighters from the Towamencin Fire Company were dispatched to an unusual rescue on Saturday afternoon, after a group of mallard ducklings fell into a storm drain behind the Wawa on Forty Foot Road.
Crews were dispatched to the 200 block of Forty Foot Road shortly after noon on July 24 for an animal rescue. Arriving firefighters discovered that four ducklings had fallen into a storm drain, and went into action to return them to their mother.
The rescue was completed just after 1 p.m., and the ducklings were returned to their mother, who lead them to the retention basin towards the rear parking lot. North Penn Now photographer Bob Kelly was on hand to capture images of the rescue, so be sure to check out his gallery below.
