Fundraiser Launched for Upper Gwynedd Firefighters After Weekend Fire Destroys Their Apartment

The victims of Sunday’s fire at the Willowyck Apartments in Upper Gwynedd Township have been identified as two active members of the Upper Gwynedd Fire Department.

Dan and Michelle Infusino were at the fire house on Sunday when they received a fire dispatch within their own apartment complex. According to a family member, both Dan and Michelle responded to the call and were on the first truck to arrive — only to learn that it was their own apartment on fire.

Though the fire was placed under relatively quickly, the damage had already been done. The recently married couple lost almost everything, including two pet bunnies — Hershey and Kisses — along with many of their belongings — including those with sentimental value.

The couple’s dog, Apollo, survived the fire and was recently returned to the couple following an emergency visit to the vet, according to the family. No other injuries were reported.

In the wake of the fire, the community has rallied around the Infusino’s via a GoFundMe in the hope of helping them rebuild and get their lives back on track. To date, organizers have raised $6,660 of their initial $10,000 goal. Donations can be made in any amount by clicking here.
