More than six area fire companies were dispatched to a second-floor blaze at Willowyck Apartments in Upper Gwynedd Township Sunday afternoon.
First responders were dispatched to the 600 block of Marlbrook Lane shortly after 3 p.m. on July 11 for a report of a residential fire. Upon arrival, police indicated that they encountered a working fire in a second-floor apartment.
Fire crews made quick work of the blaze, which was placed under control at approximately 3:20 p.m. No injuries were reported, and a dog that was inside the apartment was unharmed, according to a neighbor.
Upper Gwynedd Fire Department was assisted at the scene by units from the Upper Gwynedd Police Department, Fairmount Fire Company, North Penn Fire Company, Hatfield Fire Company, Worcester Fire Company, Towamencin Fire Company and Skippack Fire Company.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
