Montgomery County Democratic Headquarters Struck by Gunfire on Inauguration Day

Norristown Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at the Montgomery County Democratic Committee headquarters on Inauguration Day.

According to committee chair Joe Foster, the front window of the building — located at 21 East Airy Street — was struck by three bullets. No one was inside of the building at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Foster said the executive director discovered the bullet holes late-Wednesday while picking up the mail, adding that the incident came on the heels of a “disguised email threat” that was received by the group last week.

Norristown Police investigated the scene, according to Foster, and the FBI was also notified of the incident and the prior email threat.

No further details were provided.
