Reward Offered for Info Leading to Arrest in Shooting Death of Ebony Pack in Lansdale

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office has announced a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the Nov. 28 shooting death of 30-year-old Ebony Sequita Pack in Lansdale Borough.

Police were dispatched to the intersection of East Hancock Street and Church Road for a report of a vehicle accident with shots fired at 9:59 p.m. on Nov. 28. Upon arrival, police located a Nissan sedan — driven by Pack — which was stopped on a curb at the intersection. Police said the vehicle sustained numerous bullet strikes to the driver’s side door.

Pack sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the incident, including two gunshot wounds to the chest and one to the leg, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation. Pack was transported from the scene via ambulance to Abington-Lansdale Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

At the scene of the shooting, multiple neighbors reported hearing upwards of 4-to-6 gunshots in rapid succession, and a source with knowledge of the investigation said a second vehicle that may have been involved in the incident had fled the scene after the shooting.

Several days after the shooting, Lansdale Borough Police Chief Michael Trail stating that investigators believed the incident was not a random act; rather, they believed Pack was the intended target of the shooting. At that time, Trail also requested public assistance for any additional tips or details that may aid in the investigation.

“We continue to seek the public’s help, and anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to contact the Lansdale Borough Police Department at 215-368-1801 or the Montgomery County Detectives at 610-278-3368,” said Trail.

In the wake of the shooting, and with minimal details available and the gunman still on the loose, many residents expressed concerns regarding their safety, while others speculated about the nature of the incident. In response to questions from North Penn Now, Trail said that he understands the public’s concerns.

"I, too, share the public's concern, as this kind of crime does not happen in our town,” said Trail. “But rest assured, Lansdale Police and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau are working to bring justice for Ebony Sequita Pack and relief to our community.”

“Homicide investigations are, by their nature, very thorough and clandestine, and a lack of details for public release should not be construed as a lack of progress in the investigation,” said Trail.

District Attorney Kevin Steele asked anyone who has any information to come forward and do the right thing.

“Please call detectives and share any detail about that night or anything you might know,” said Steele. “We want to find Ebony’s murderer and bring justice to her family.”

Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to contact the Montgomery County Detectives’ Tip Line at 610-278-DOIT (3647) or Lansdale Borough Police at 215-368-1801.
