Montgomery County Treasurer Jason Salus announced late last week the winner of the photo contest to become the “First Dog” of Montgomery County.
Louis Pasteur Croissant, of Bala Cynwyd, has been chosen as the official “First Dog” of Montgomery County, and will be featured on the website for dog licensing.
“Our office received close to 400 entries from all over the county. Residents enjoyed showcasing their dogs and the judges had a difficult time in their selection,” said Salus. “We will celebrate the ‘Honorable Mentions’ on the licensing website as well. Louis and his pet parent were delighted to receive the news.”
Louis’ owners stated that he is “a sweet, loving dog who is always by our side.” Louis is affectionately called their “pandemic puppy,” as he was born in May 2020.
“Louis, whose full name is Louis Pasteur Croissant, loves to play in the snow, go on hikes and snuggle with his favorite humans,” said his owners.
Salus offered his congratulation to the winner and his owners, as well as a thank you to everyone who submitted images of their dogs for the contest.
