Lansdale Police File Charges in Connection with ‘Shots Fired’ Incident on York Avenue

A Philadelphia man has been arrested in connection with a “shots fired” incident that occurred on York Avenue in early October.

Phiheem Williams, 30, has been charged with three misdemeanor counts of making terroristic threats, three summary counts of harassment and a summary count of disorderly conduct, in connection with the investigation by the Lansdale Borough Police Department.

Police were dispatched to the 300 block of York Avenue at 9 p.m. on Oct. 4 for a report of a crowd of people creating a disturbance. A second call was placed to 9-1-1 from a resident who stated that there were people on location who were trying to enter her home, and she had fired a single shot from her firearm to dissuade the subjects from coming inside.

No one was struck by the bullet, police said.

Arriving police spoke to Williams outside of the home, who stated that the woman was the mother of his child, and she was not returning his phone calls regarding visitation with his son, police said. Williams said he brought numerous family members to the location of the incident in an effort to see his son, and he was further upset that the mother was allowing another male to be near the child, according to the criminal complaint.

The mother told police that she was standing in her dining room when she observed someone opening her front window, at which point she fired a “warning shot,” the report states.

Investigators recovered surveillance footage of the incident, which showed Williams walking towards the mother’s home at 8:56 p.m. before going out of frame, where he began to verbally yell at the woman as he knocked on the door, the report states. At 8:59 p.m., a single gunshot could be heard, followed by the woman saying “Get the f—k away from my window,” according to the complaint.

The mother also provided multiple texts messages from Williams dated Oct. 3, in which Williams repeatedly threatens to harm and kill the woman, police said.

Charges were filed against Williams on Nov. 16 via summons, meaning he has not been arraigned and no mugshot is available at this time. Court records show Williams has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Dec. 15 at 1:15 p.m. in front of District Judge Ed Levine.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using court records and the affidavit of probable cause.
