Suspect Arrested After Stabbing Man, Walking Naked Down West Seventh Street in Lansdale, Police Say

A Lansdale man is facing felony aggravated assault charges and related offenses after he allegedly used scissors to stab a man multiple times, then took off his clothes and began walking down West Seventh Street in Lansdale Borough.

Timothy Glackin, 31, has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault along with misdemeanor counts of simple assault, reckless endangerment, possessing an instrument of crime, defiant criminal trespassing, and indecent exposure, in connection with the Aug. 13 incident.

Police were dispatched to the 400 block of West Eighth Street at 9:16 a.m. for a report of a stabbing. Arriving officers encountered a male victim suffering from stab wounds to his head, back and both arms, who stated that Glackin had repeatedly stabbed him with a pair of scissors, according to the criminal complaint.

The victim reported to police that he had encountered Glackin in the enclosed porch to the rear of his home. The victim stated that he asked why Glackin was there, at which point Glackin “began to talk about things that did not make sense,” the report states. Glackin then attacked the victim with a pair of scissors, before a third man intervened and stopped the attack, investigators said.

Glackin was known to the victim, but the attack was unprovoked, police said.

After the stabbing, Glackin allegedly exited the victim’s home, removed all his clothing, and fled the scene on foot. Montgomery County Dispatch received multiple calls about a nude adult male walking down West Seventh Street, and Glackin was subsequently taken into custody.

Police described Glackin as rambling, and said he offered the unsolicited statement that he “woke up this morning and killed someone.” He was then transported to Lansdale Hospital for a mental health evaluation, according to the complaint.

Glackin was arraigned later that afternoon by District Judge Marc Alfarano, who set bail at $25,000 cash. He was transported to county jail after failing to post bail, and his next court appearance is a preliminary hearing on Sept. 1 at 2:15 p.m. in front of District Judge Ed Levine.

Police said the victim of the stabbing was taken to Lansdale Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. He was later released.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using court records and the affidavit of probable cause.
