A young girl was airlifted to the hospital late Thursday afternoon following an incident that occurred at Nor-Gwyn Pool in Upper Gwynedd Township.
First responders were dispatched to 1 Parkside Place at 5:19 p.m. for a report of a 10-year-old female with a reported back injury. Upper Gwynedd Police Chief David Duffy said the incident was captured on video, which appears to show the girl over-arching her back while jumping off the diving board.
“It is not believed to be an ‘impact’ injury,” Duffy said.
The girl then fell into the water, and was rescued by a lifeguard, according to a witness at the scene. She was flown to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia via PennStar medevac, and her current condition is unknown, police said.
Upper Gwynedd Police were assisted at the scene by the Ambler Community Ambulance Association, as well as the Upper Gwynedd Fire Department and North Penn Volunteer Fire Company.
