A Lansdale man is facing charges in connection with a shooting incident that occurred outside of Antojos Restaurant in Allentown early Sunday morning.
Juan Ortiz, 26, has been charged with misdemeanor counts of simple assault and disorderly conduct – engage in fighting, as well as summary counts of harassment, in connection with the incident.
Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of South Fourth Street at 2:19 a.m. on Aug. 15 for a report of shots fired. Arriving officers found three victims suffering from non-life-threating gunshot wounds, as well as evidence of the shooting, police said.
The three victims were transported via ambulance by Allentown EMS to local hospitals for treatment. Police described all three victims as uncooperative with their investigation.
According to a release from the Allentown Police Department, Ortiz was arrested after engaging in a fight outside of the restaurant during the incident. Police did not elaborate on whether they believe Ortiz is involved in the shooting, or what association there was between the fight and the shooting.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said. Police declined to comment further.
Ortiz was arraigned by District Judge Karen Devine, who set bail at 10% of $10,000 cash. Court records indicate he posted bail later that day.
His next court appearance is a preliminary hearing in front of Judge Devine on Aug. 23 at 1:15 p.m.
