Four North Montco Technical Career Center students were recent recipients of the David H. Shaffer, Jr. Memorial Scholarship.

The Montgomery County Public Works Association (MCPWA) provides this scholarship award in honor of longtime Association and Board of Directors member, David H. Shaffer, Jr. Each of the North Montco recipients were awarded $500. This award will be used to defray the cost of attending a trade/technical school or institution of higher learning to obtain a degree or certification in a profession relevant to public works.

The awards were presented on Aug. 5 at the MCPWA Annual Meeting and Picnic. This year, the event was held at St. Michaels Grove and Pavilion in Mont Clare, PA.

Congratulations to the following students:

  • Matthew Brown (HVAC), attending Thaddeus Stevens
  • Nate Daniels (Welding & Fabrication), attending Welder Training & Testing Institute (WTTI)
  • Mike DiMarco (Construction and Carpentry), attending Penn College of Technology
  • Chris Hill (HVAC), attending North Montco Continuing Education
