Hilltown Township Police have released the details of a fatal crash that occurred on Hilltown Pike late Tuesday night.
According to the release, police were responding to an unrelated dispatch at 9:43 p.m. when they came across a vehicle crash along the 1600 block of Hilltown Pike. Investigators said that a pickup truck with a small trailer was parked in the northbound lane as three men worked to load items into the trailer.
A second vehicle then struck the trailer from the rear, killing one of the men and injuring the other two. The deceased was later identified as 69-year-old Leon Ryerson Jr., of Scipio Center, NY. The other two unidentified men were transported to Grand View Hospital via ambulance with unknown injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time.
Hilltown Township Police were assisted at the scene by units from the Bucks County Coroner’s Office, Hilltown Fire Company, Chal-Brit Regional EMS, Central Bucks EMS, and fire police from Chalfont, Silverdale, Souderton and Colmar.
