Build-A-Bag Backpack and School Supply Drive Looking for Donations and Local Partnerships

Every year, many families in the North Penn community need help providing backpacks and basic school supplies for their children. North Penn School District (NPSD) Educational Foundation believes that every student should be able to walk through the doors on the first day of school feeling confident and prepared to succeed. To continue their efforts in providing each student equal access to a North Penn education, the NPSD Educational Foundation is once again holding our Build-A-Bag Backpack and School Supply Drive.

In partnership with the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County and with the help of the North Penn community, their goal is to provide 175 filled backpacks to be privately and anonymously given to students by school staff at the beginning of the school year and throughout as needed.

How to Get Involved

  • Purchase school supplies online & have them delivered directly to NPSD: Using a registry created on Target.com, shop from home and have supplies delivered directly to NPSD! Click here for an easy-to-use registry of school supplies needed.
  • Register your business/organization as a donation site: Sign up here to receive a donation bin and promotional materials so your business or organization can serve as a community donation site.
  • Purchase supplies and drop off at a donation location: Click here for lists of supplies needed and more information about where to drop off items.
  • Donate to the drive online

Hurry, drive ends Monday, August 16!

There will be a few opportunities for community members to volunteer to help sort supplies and fill backpacks. Check out the NPSD Educational Foundation’s website as more information about this will be posted soon.

If NPSD families would like to request a backpack or school supplies for your student, please contact the guidance counselor at your child’s school as distribution is handled at the school level.
