McAllister, Ten7 Among 20 Veteran-owned Breweries that Raised Over $21,000 for Pa. Veterans

(Editor's Note: the following information was provided by BreweriesInPa.com.)

On Memorial Day of this year, 20 veteran owned/operated breweries in Pennsylvania joined forces to produce a craft beer brewed by military veterans, in the support of military veterans. “Adapt And Overcome,” a 5.9% IPA was released across all of Pennsylvania at the breweries involved in May 2021.

The beer was not only produced by veterans, it also included ingredients manufactured by Pennsylvania veteran-owned businesses as well. Grain and malt for the beer came from Deer Creek Malthouse in Glen Mills, while some of the hops used in the beer had been produced by GEMS Farms Hops in Carlisle — both of which are veteran-owned. To support the large volume of beer needed for this project, manufacturing of the beer was split between GearHouse Brewing in Chambersburg and 2nd Story Brewing in Philadelphia — both of which are veteran owned/operated and involved in the release.

It was important that not only the beer be made by PA veterans, but also to support PA veterans, which is why a portion of the proceeds were donated towards the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation (PVF). For those not familiar, the PVF exists to provide assistance and support for Pennsylvania veterans and their families. Over the last eight years, they have raised over $2 million towards their cause.

The following 20 breweries were involved in the release of the “Adapt and Overcome” beer:

  • 2nd Story Brewing
  • Artifice Ales & Mead
  • Black Forest Brewery
  • Cellar Works Brewing
  • Cox Brewing Company
  • Downriver Brewing
  • Eclipse Brewing
  • Five Mountain Brewing
  • Gearhouse Brewing
  • Hemauer Brewing
  • McAllister Brewing
  • Olde Bedford Brewing
  • Root Down Brewing
  • Seven Sirens Brewing
  • Stonebridge Brewing
  • Tattered Flag Brewing
  • Ten7 Brewing
  • Whitehorse Brewing
  • Willow Creek Brewing

Those 20 businesses, along with specially made glassware sold by Breweries In PA, combined to raise $21,349.44 that was donated directly to the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation.

If you did not get a chance to try this beer, you may be in luck in the future. The organization behind this release, Breweries In PA, has stated that they plan to continue veteran themed releases in the future. Follow BreweriesInPA.com to stay up to date on future projects.
