Montgomery Township to hold Electronic Recycling Event and Arbor Day Tree Giveaway on Saturday

Montgomery Township is celebrating the beginning of spring this year with an Electronic Recycling Event and the annual Arbor Day Tree Giveaway for Montgomery Township residents.

The Electronic Recycling Event will be held at William F. Maule Park at Windlestrae from 9 a.m. to noon, located at 1147 Kenas Road. All residents must pre-register via Eventbrite by clicking here.

The annual Arbor Day Tree Giveaway will be held at the Gazebo Park at the Montgomery Township Administration Building, located at 1001 Stump Road from 9 a.m. to noon, or while supplies last.

Both events are for Montgomery Township residents only.

Electronic Recycling Event

The Electronic Recycling Event is being made possible through eForce Compliance, a certified electronic recycling company.

eForce is accepting anything with a plug, laptops, mice, telephones, small appliances, cameras, fax machines, cell phones, keyboards, printers, etc. All data media will be destroyed or wiped.

Please note that eForce charges a $30 fee per TV or computer monitor, a $100 fee per projection or wooden console TV and a $10 fee per dehumidifier, air conditioner or microwave. All other items are recycled for free.

This event will be held rain or shine.

Arbor Day Tree Giveaway

The Arbor Day Tree Giveaway event is nationally celebrated as a day to promote the benefits of planting a tree to positively impact the community environment.

Each Montgomery Township household will receive one free tree on a first come, first serve basis, with 11 varieties to choose from.

The tree varieties are as follows: Alleghany Serviceberry, River Birch, Eastern Redbud, Pagoda Dogwood, Flowering Dogwood, White Fringe Tree, Sweet Pepperbush, Persimmon, Witchhazel, Tulip Poplar, Swamp White Oak.

Township staff, landscape architect, and volunteers, including members from the Shade Tree Commission, will be on hand at the Gazebo Park at the Montgomery Township Administration Building to provide tree selection and maintenance advice to the residents.
