A Perkasie woman is facing multiple felony charges after she allegedly forced entry into her ex-boyfriend’s home in Hilltown Township and stabbed him with a broken bottle.
Grace Anne Crews, 30, has been charged with felony counts of burglary and criminal trespass, in addition to a misdemeanor count of simple assault and a summary charge of harassment, in connection with the April 4 incident.
Police said they were dispatched to the 800 block of East Creamery Road at 9:45 p.m. on April 4 for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, police said that Crews was sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle in the driveway and the victim remained inside the home.
The report states that police made contact with the victim, who had blood-soaked makeshift bandages covering his upper right arm. After the bandages were removed, police said they observed a “significant,” deep laceration approximately six inches long.
According to the complaint, the victim told police Crews would stay with him from time to time, however she did not live at the home and she did not have a key to the residence. Investigators said the victim was sleeping in his bedroom when he was awoken by Crews and an argument ensued. Crews then grabbed a beer bottle, broke the bottle, and swung at the victim causing the injury, police said.
The victim was transported to Grand View Hospital via ambulance for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The criminal complaint states that the victim received more than 12 stitches.
Investigators said that Crews had forced entry into the home via smashing out the glass of an exterior rear door. Police attempted to speak with Crews on scene, but the complaint states that she was not forthcoming with information. She did, however, tell police that she was kicked in the knee prior to grabbing and breaking the bottle, the report states.
Crews was arraigned on April 5 by Magisterial District Judge John Kelly Jr., who set bail at $50,000 unsecured. Her next court appearance is a preliminary hearing on May 20 at 3:15 p.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using court records and the affidavit of probable cause.
