Horsham Man Charged with Possessing, Distributing Child Pornography

A Horsham Township man has been arrested on more than 50 felony charges related to the possession and distribution of child pornography.

Xing Ge, 23, has been charged with 50 felony counts of possession of child pornography, six felony counts of distributing child pornography and two felony counts of criminal use of a communication facility in connection with the investigation.

Investigators were conducting an online investigation in September 2020, which sought to identify individuals who were in possession of child pornography as well as sharing child pornography on a peer-to-peer file sharing network. Police stated that they identified a specific IP address that was sharing child pornography files, and over a period of three weeks, they were able to download 32 image files depicting children engaged in sexual acts or sexually explicit poses.

Police said they traced the IP address to Ge’s residence in Horsham Township, and on Jan. 22, a search warrant was executed on the home. As a result of the search, investigators seized numerous electronic devices, including a computer tower and hard drive that were found to contain 1,049 video files and 264 image files of child pornography, investigators said.

Of those files, more than 100 showed indecent contact with children, including children under 5 years old being sexually assaulted, according to a release from the district attorney’s office.

Ge was arraigned on April 1 by Magisterial District Judge Harry Nesbitt, who set bail at 10% of $100,000 cash along with the conditions that Ge have no contact with minors and no nefarious internet usage. Court records indicate Ge was bailed out later that day.

Ge’s next court appearance is a preliminary hearing at 11:15 a.m. on April 15 in front of Judge Nesbitt.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using court records and the affidavit of probable cause.
