The Fire Department of Montgomery Township (FDMT) will host a drive through fire prevention event next week at the Montgomery Mall.
The event is scheduled to occur on Oct. 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the overflow parking lot across from Wegmans. Unlike prior years and due to pandemic restrictions, guests will have to stay in their vehicles as they drive through various displays of area fire service equipment and vehicles.
At the end of the display, FDMT will distribute fire prevention materials to guests in their vehicles.
Montgomery Township Director of Fire Services Bill Wiegman said some details are still being worked out for the event, but added that Colmar, Horsham, Fairmount, North Penn, Upper Gwynedd and Chalfont fire companies will join FDMT at the event, as well members of the Montgomery Township Police Department.
