A young boy has been hospitalized following a hit and run crash outside of the Philly Fade Factory in Lansdale Borough.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 5:20 p.m. along the 100 block of East Main Street on Sept. 22. Though police at the scene declined to provide comment, sources tell North Penn Now that an 8-year-old boy sustained injuries after being struck by an unidentified vehicle that fled the scene.

Dispatch notes indicate the victim was in-and-out of consciousness and initially called for a medevac, but the medevac was called off and the victim was transported from the scene via ambulance to an area hospital.

A source with knowledge of the boy’s injuries stated that he is expected to recover. No further details are available.

The scene was cleared off emergency personnel shortly before 6 p.m.

Editor's note: a prior version of this story referred to the incident as a hit and run in the headline. That headline has been adjusted following newly released information stating that the striking vehicle remained on scene for a period following the crash.
