Lansdale Borough Police are continuing their investigation into a vehicle crash on East Main Street that sent a young boy to the hospital.
According to Lansdale Borough Police Chief Mike Trail, police were dispatched to the area of 153 East Main Street at 5:21 p.m. on Sept. 22 for a report of a juvenile pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle. Initial reports indicated that the incident was a hit and run, but Trail said that witnesses stated the vehicle did stop following the crash but left the scene prior to police arrival.
Trail said the early reporting error identifying the incident as a hit and run may have been due to a language barrier, but both the vehicle and the driver have since been positively identified.
The victim — an 8-year-old boy — was transported from the scene via ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. Trail added that the boy’s injuries were not believed to be serious.
Police did not release any details regarding the cause of the crash, but stated that the incident remains under investigation at this time.
