Warrington Township Police have announced that a Lansdale man has died from injuries sustained in a head-on crash on the Route 202 Parkway on Wednesday morning.
Police said the crash occurred shortly before 8 a.m. on Sept. 2, between County Line Road and Route 152. The crash, which remains under investigation, involved a Nissan Altima driven by 34-year-old Russell Blackburn, of Lansdale, and an unidentified male driver in a Jeep Patriot.
Both men were transported to the Abington Trauma Center following the crash, but Blackburn would later die from his injuries. The unidentified driver of the Jeep Patriot remains in critical condition at this time, police said.
The Route 2020 Parkway was closed for an extended period on Wednesday, as Warrington Township Police performed an accident reconstruction. Now that the crash has proved fatal, the Bucks County Homicide by Vehicle Task Force is assisting police with their investigation.
