Manna on Main Street Receives Donation of Refrigerated Van from Whole Foods Market

On Tuesday, Manna on Main Street’s Executive Director received the keys to the organizations first and only refrigerated van.

Manna is one of 19 organizations to receive a donated van from Whole Foods Market as part of their new “Nourishing our Neighborhoods” program. “Nourishing our Neighborhoods” is a program created to expand capacity and capability for community-based food rescue organizations to move food from where it’s available to where it’s needed most.

Manna on Main Street has partnered with Whole Foods Market since 2008 and, over the years, has received financial and in-kind donations from local stores.

“We are honored to receive this van from Whole Foods Market and excited to continue building this important relationship,” said Suzan Neiger Gould, Manna’s Executive Director. “The van will allow us to safely pickup perishable items and other rescued food. These perishable donations—such as fruits, vegetables and meats—go into our Market or Kitchen to provide nutritious groceries and meals to the families and individuals we serve!”
