There’s Big Value in Small Engine Repair at North Montco

Many homeowners and businesses use equipment containing small engines, which is why the North Montco Technical Career Center is offering their Small Engine Repair Class beginning on Oct. 12 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This 36-hour course is beneficial for both the home and business owner. Whether you are maintaining personal equipment or caring for company tools, being able to maintain and repair this investment can help save significant cash.

This course is designed to help the student with the practice of maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing small two-and-four-cycle internal combustion engines. Hands-on experience and demonstrations will be included and hydraulic and electrical systems will also be discussed.

  • Small engine equipment examples include:
  • Lawn mowers, trimmers and edging equipment
  • Tilers and cultivators
  • Chainsaws
  • Motorcycles or go-karts
  • Power wheelchairs
  • Snow blowers

The course is taught by Dave Green, a former North Montco student. Technical education has provided Green with a background in mechanics that has served him well in his career. As a high school student, Green studied in the Small Engine Repair Lab. During that time, Green also enrolled in many of North Montco’s evening Continuing Education programs, where he learned HVAC, Electrical, Welding and others.
