A 90-year-old woman was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Hancock Street in Lansdale Borough on Tuesday night.
Police were dispatched to the intersection of Hancock and Cedar streets at 7:09 p.m. on Oct. 6 for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Police said that the 90-year-old woman was attempting to walk across the street when she was struck by a vehicle.
Investigators could not provide details regarding the nature or extent of the woman’s injuries, but said she was transported to Lansdale Hospital via ambulance, where she was then airlifted to another hospital for treatment.
The woman is expected to recover, police said. The driver of the striking vehicle was uninjured.
Units from the Lansdale Borough Police Department and the Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale responded to the scene, which was cleared at 7:45 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
