North Wales Area Churches Band Together to Host ‘Community Donation Days’ Food Drive

The Small Food Pantry at Parkside Place in Upper Gwynedd Township.

Five churches within the North Wales area have teamed up to host a community food drive aimed at replenishing supplies at three local food cupboards.

Dubbed ‘Community Donation Days,’ area residents will be able to make donations of non-perishable food, paper products and cleaning/sanitizing products at the following locations and times:

  • Gwynedd Friends Meeting, 1101 Dekalb Pike, May 29 – May 31, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Church of the Messiah, Parish Hall, 1001 Dekalb Pike, May 30, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Sanctuary United Methodist Church, 1346 East Prospect Avenue, May 29 – May 31, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church, 211 South Main Street, May 29 – May 31, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Saint Rose of Lima Parish Center, 424, South Main Street, May 29 – May 31, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Most needed items for donation include:

  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Canned proteins
  • Canned or dried fruits and vegetables
  • Cereal, oatmeal and granola bars
  • Whole grain pasta and pasta sauce
  • Rice, quinoa and beans
  • Coffee, tea, juice and condiments
  • Baking ingredients
  • Toilet paper, paper towels and tissues
  • Cleaning products and sanitizing wipes
  • Dish and laundry detergent

Once the donations have been gathered, volunteers will organize, package and deliver the supplies to local food cupboards, including Manna on Main Street, Inter-Faith Housing Alliance and Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard.
