A man was hospitalized on Tuesday evening after his motorcycle was struck by an SUV while turning into the Wissahickon Apartment complex on East Main Street.
Lansdale Borough Police were dispatched to the 700 block of East Main Street at 6:28 p.m. on May 26 for a report of a vehicle accident with injuries. Lansdale Police Chief Michael Trail said that as a motorcycle was attempting to turn into 757 East Main Street, it was struck from behind by an SUV.
As a result of the crash, the man who was operating the motorcycle sustained injuries to his upper torso, police said. The unidentified man was transported from the scene via ambulance to Abington Main, and his motorcycle was towed from the scene.
Trail said the driver of the SUV has since been cited for careless driving.
The scene was cleared at approximately 7 p.m., police said. In addition to the Lansdale Borough Police Department, members of the Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale responded to the scene.
