Healthcare Workers, Long-Term Care Residents Honored with Parade, Musical Performances [Photos]

As part of National Nursing Home Week, dozens of Lansdale Borough first responders, elected officials and employees held a parade to honor local healthcare workers and long-term care residents on Thursday night.

The parade began at 7 p.m. and made its way past Childway Pediatric Services, Saint Mary’s Manor, Elm Terrace Gardens and Harborview Rehabilitation. The effort served to boost morale and show community support for those facilities as they continue to fight their way through the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier on Thursday, residents at Elm Terrace were also treated to a pair of outdoor musical performances. Many of the residents opened their windows to take in the sounds, as others outside held up signs showing their support.

North Penn Now photographer Bob Kelly was fortunately able to catch both events, leading to the inspired gallery you can view below.
