UPDATE: May 12, 5:36 p.m. - A report by WFMZ confirms that one person is dead following the standoff and ensuing fire. The report quotes police as saying they initially responded to the 2000 block of Hilltown Pike for a report of a person trying to either damage or break into the Crossroads Tavern, and the suspect then headed into the home at 2010 Hilltown Pike.
Few details about the standoff are known at this time, but units were dispatched to 2010 Hilltown Pike just before noon today for a report of a barricaded male with smoke showing from the home. Updates provided by AlertPage indicate that there is a working fire at the home, but the suspect remains barricaded inside.
Sources tell North Penn Now that the single-family dwelling is the same location as a prior 11-hour standoff in January, which resulted in felony kidnapping, rape and sexual assault charges being filed against 48-year-old Curtis Fish. We have been unable to confirm that information, though we have confirmed it is the same block as the previous standoff, and additional sources have mentioned Fish by name.
Court records indicate that Fish was bailed out on Jan. 15, after his bail was reduced from 10% of $850,000 to 10% of $350,000. Fish has since been repeatedly cited for violation of the Disease Prevention and Control Act during the coronavirus shutdown, court records indicate.
Sources say the home is almost entirely in flames, and members of the fire service are continuing to push water on the home while maintaining the boundaries of the police perimeter.
