Beginning Monday, March 30, the North Penn School District (NPSD) will be consolidating its free grab-and-go meals distribution days to Mondays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at five select locations listed below.
Providing nutritious meals to families during the COVID-19 school closure is of utmost importance to NPSD. To this end, NPSD invites families and care-givers to drive through* and pick up free breakfast and lunch meals for their children.
Pick up locations will be located at the student drop off lane of the following schools on Mondays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.:
Grab-and-go lunches and breakfasts will be provided to any children 18 years old and younger. As part of the consolidation of distribution days, families will be able to pick up three days’ worth of meals, both breakfast and lunch, per child. Each child will receive three breakfast meals and three lunch meals. This new distribution schedule now provides a total of six days’ worth of free meals, an increase of one additional breakfast and lunch per week!
Children must be present in order for meals to be provided per United States Department of Agriculture regulations. Families are asked to stay in the car during distribution. Meals will be passed through windows based on the number of children in the car. Meals must be eaten off site. No identification or student information is required.
The menu, which includes dairy products, sandwiches, cereal, snacks, fruit and milk, can be found here and is subject to change week to week. Lunch and breakfast will be provided on a first come, first served basis. To view language translations, please visit the NPSD COVID-19 School Closure Resources website.
Families who live very close to any meal site may walk to pick up their meals, but are asked to not congregate at the pick-up site. Information about local food pantries can be found here for families that need additional support.
