North Penn School District to Shift to Distance Learning Beginning March 30

Greetings North Penn Families and Students,

We hope this email finds you well. With the governor’s announcement that all schools in the commonwealth will remain closed through at least April 6, we are pleased to announce that all North Penn School District schools will move to a distance learning format beginning Monday, March 30.

We are sure that you have many questions about how this instruction will work. Below are links with specific information and other useful resources.

Over the next day or so, teachers will be reaching out to each of their students using the online platform that had been used in that class (Google Classroom, Seesaw, Bloomz, Class Dojo. etc.). Principals will
let you know when to expect this teacher contact so that you can work with your child to ensure they are logging on.

I want to take a moment to thank everyone, including our families, for their support during this time. Since the governor first ordered schools to close effective Friday, March 13, our staff has been working tirelessly for our families and students. We have been distributing meals to students at five locations in our district. We have worked with parents to retrieve medication left at school and we distributed more than 3,000 Chromebooks/iPads to elementary students. And now it is time to launch distance learning to assure all of our students can continue to access their education and learn.

We are in this together. As there may be a few bumps along the road, I hope you will continue to have patience during these challenging times. Please know everything we do is for our students.

Sincerely,

Curtis R. Dietrich

Superintendent, North Penn School District
