A Hatfield man has been sentenced to probation for his role in the June 2019 lockdown of a medical facility off of County Line Road in New Britain Township.
According to court records, 55-year-old Richard Henning Jr. has been sentenced to two years of probation, as part of a negotiated plea agreement with prosecutors in Bucks County. Per the agreement, Henning plead guilty to misdemeanor charges of making terroristic threats and harassment, and the felony charge of criminal use of a communication facility was withdrawn.
Henning was initially facing a felony level terroristic threats charged, but it was later reduced to a misdemeanor. He has also been ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation and refrain from further contact with the medical facility.
According to a release from the New Britain Township Police Department, police were dispatched to a medical facility on Horizon Circle at 1:19 p.m. on June 27, 2019, for a report of a threat towards the business and its employees. The release states that a man—later identified as Henning—left an angry voicemail allegedly stating “…I’m going to drive here and raise [expletive] holy hell. I’m taking guns and I’m going to start shooting [expletive] people.”
The facility was placed on lockdown for a period due to the voicemail, and Henning was later taken into custody.
