An unidentified male driver was hospitalized on Tuesday afternoon, after his Dodge pickup truck crashed into a building on Main Street in Telford and then overturned on the sidewalk.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. along the 100 block of North Main Street in Telford Borough. Witnesses at the scene stated that the vehicle pulled out of a neighboring parking lot at a high rate of speed, struck a building and then overturned. Crews from the Telford Fire Company and Perseverance Fire Company of Souderton worked to free the man, who was successfully extricated after firefighters removed the roof of the vehicle. The man was then transported from the scene via ambulance to a local hospital, and one source described the man’s injuries as including severe orbital trauma.
North Main Street remained closed for a period afterwards, as the vehicle was towed and the scene had to be cleared.
North Penn Now has reached out to the Telford Borough Police Department for more information regarding this incident, the cause, a list of responding units and any possible charges being filed. Police said they would respond once the report is complete, so we will provide a follow up article at that time.
