First responders are currently at the scene of a vehicle accident with injuries and entrapment on Elroy Road in Hatfield Township.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred at 3:33 p.m. near the intersection with Hertford Drive. Sources tell North Penn Now that the driver of a silver SUV struck and knocked down a utility pole, which then landed on the front of the vehicle.
The driver remains trapped in their vehicle at this time, as the electric wires are currently active. North Penn Now photographer Bob Kelly, who is on scene, said electric workers are en route to the scene to turn the power off.
The extent of the driver’s injuries is currently unknown, as is the cause of the crash. Multiple area residents have reported to North Penn Now that they are without power.
