Ambler and Well Crafted Beer Companies Collaborate on ‘Black is Beautiful’ Project

The Black Is Beautiful project began at San Antonio-based Weathered Souls Brewing Company in early June. Weathered Souls invited other breweries to make the same beer recipe to continue to raise awareness of the injustices people of color face and to raise money for charities. Along with over a thousand breweries worldwide, Ambler and Well Crafted beer companies collaborated to brew the Black is Beautiful Imperial Stout. They will be donating all proceeds from their batch to the local African American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) in Philadelphia.

“Well Crafted and Ambler Beer Co. selected this charity because we see a lot of similarities in our values. We are both new start-ups, working to stay relevant in these challenging times. We appreciate what the AACC does for entrepreneurs — how they help small businesses, provide info and access to COVID-19 support and support black-owned businesses in the community,” said Nica Bellenger, of Well Crafted Beer Co.

The AACC operates in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, with the purpose of preventing discrimination in city contracting, promoting the sound economic wellbeing and empowerment of African-American owned businesses and African-American economic status through educational and other charitable means. Well Crafted has also collaborated with Round Guys Brewing Company to brew the Black is Beautiful Imperial Stout. It releases later this month and proceeds from that batch will be donated to the NAACP Ambler Chapter. They are accepting pre-orders here.
