Jean Goetter, 90, of Hatfield, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Gwynedd Health Care, Upper Gwynedd Township. She was the loving wife of the late Carl Goetter, who died in 1986. Born May 16, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Esther (Zepp) Hummel.
Jean met her loving husband at a dance, something which she loved to do! She also loved to sing in the choir and was an auxiliary member of the Hatfield Fire Company. Mom, mother, and grammy, she will mostly be remembered and missed by her loving family, especially at birthday time…known as the “card person," she never missed sending a birthday card.
Jean raised seven children, Carla Williams (Loren), Vineland, NJ, Janice Day, Sellersville, PA, Mary Jane Goetter, Daytona Beach, FL, Shirley Kleckner (Tom), Hatfield, PA, Lori Goetter, Hatfield, PA, and Charles Goetter (Lisa), Lansdale, PA; 34 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren; brother, Harold Hummel (Mary), Pottstown.
Predeceased by a son, Carl G. Goetter, and brother, Jerry Hummel.
The family will receive friends during a public drive through viewing from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446. At this time, you will be able to view Mrs. Goetter and talk with the family while remaining in your vehicle. They will have facial coverings, as will other family members inside the funeral home. There will be staff outside the funeral home to direct you as you proceed through the viewing vehicle line.
