Lansdale prides itself on progress and reform, so when the opportunity arose to brew a beer that reflected these principles, it was no surprise that Round Guys and Well Crafted Beer Co. would heed the call.
This past weekend, the two Lansdale-based breweries began the process of brewing a nationwide, collaborative, fundraising beer called “Black is Beautiful,” created by Weathered Souls Brewing Company in San Antonio, TX. According to the website:
“’Black is Beautiful’ is a collaborative effort to raise awareness for the injustices people of color face daily and raise funds for police brutality reform and legal defenses for those who have been wronged.”
Round Guys has never shied away from confronting injustices in the world or community. They have actively take part and stood with community members and organizations seeking community reform and progress towards a better tomorrow. The proceeds from the sale of “Black is Beautiful” will be donated directly to the Ambler Branch of the NAACP, which is lead by Shaykh Anwar Muhammad, owner of Lansdale’s Black Reserve Bookstore.
Round Guys co-owner, Scott Rudich, has set an overall goal of $10,000 to be raised from the pre-sale, sale and donations from the community. Pre-sales are available directly from Round Guys website. Additional donations may be made as well.
