A two-vehicle crash in Lansdale Borough sent one man to the hospital on Saturday afternoon, after his vehicle overturned near the intersection of Towamencin and Columbia avenues.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, units were dispatched to the scene at 11:34 a.m. for a report of an accident with injuries. Upon arrival, first responders encountered an overturned vehicle with a male trapped inside. Crews from Fairmount and Colmar fire companies worked to extricate the man from the vehicle for approximately 15 minutes, and once freed, he was transported to Lansdale Hospital via ambulance with unknown injuries.
A second vehicle involved in the accident remained on scene, and there were no injuries reported from the occupants of the second vehicle, according to officials on scene.
Though no official cause of the crash has been released, sources at the scene told North Penn Now photographer Bob Kelly that the striking vehicle had slid through the intersection, causing the crash.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
Units from the Lansdale Borough Police Department, Fairmount Fire Company, Colmar Fire Company and Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale assisted at the scene.
